Default Need help with year and value S&W .38 Serial# 194592

I have a S&W .38 revolver with serial number 194692. Last patent date is Jan 5 82. The serial number matches on the frame and the cylinder. It uses standard .38 S&W ammo.

It is a .38 Double Action, Third Model, from the late 1880s. Value? Even if in workable condition, not much. .38 DAs are extremely common, over 500,000 made, and only those in prime condition (quite a few of those exist) have any collector value or interest. If the Mother-of-Pearl grips are undamaged, they may be worth more than the rest of the gun.

You have a .38 Double Action, 3rd model, made about 1890. It has been poorly refinished in the past and has no collector value, therefore. If it's in good mechanical condition, it has some shooter value for Cowboy Shooting events. Value is around $150. If the grips are real mother of pearl, add about another $75 if they are in perfect condition. Ed.
