During WWI England bought large quantities of Spanish revolvers to use as a substitute standard for home guards and other troops stationed in England. There were so many of these they actually didn't need them all so a quantity were sold to Russia. Years ago, a dealer friend found this revolver and told me I had to have it - he was right. Definitely Spanish and it is in 44 Russian
Your revolver looks like it should be on display in a museum, but I'll bet it is more fun to fondle in the living room on rainy days when it's not fun to visit the range.
I am pretty sure this one was made by Garate Anitua y Cia from the mark on the grips. Most were made in .455 but this one is definitely 44 Russian. I have heard of these being called Model 1915 and Model 1916. I am looking for any information I can get on this one. Like most of my other copies, I've owned it for many years, but never had the time to do the research on it.
