Default Pearl Grips Care and Feeding

Other then the wiping occasionally with a soft cloth is there any special care (waxing?) that should be taken with pearl grips?

I'm not aware of any special care that pearl stocks may require, however be sure not to spill any liquid chemicals or dyes on them unless you want to change the color. Ed.

Wax won't hurt them, might provide a little protection. The problem with MOP grips is that they chip easily. It might be best to find some cheap replacement grips to use for shooting purposes and store the MOPs away in a safe place.

I coat mine with Renassiance Wax just like the rest of the exterior of the gun. It gives them a nice sheen and really brings out the colors.

Assuming non-porous pearl, pure mineral oil will restore and maintain shine and luster.

Everyone brags on Ren Wax, and maybe justifiably. I have never used it, so I don't know. I've used plain old Johnson's Paste Wax on all my guns for many years, and it seems to work fine for me. Some use neutral shoe polish. In any event, I think if you wish to use it only as a display piece, leave the MOPs on. If you want to shoot it, buy some cheap grips off eBay for that.

I don't really plan on shooting it more then once, if I ever find a shop selling some .32 S&W, but a knock-around set of repro grips is a good idea.
