Default All in the same day?

It appears you struck the "Mother Load" of Top Break stocks, you really find them all on the same day? This is an impressive display, congratulations! Well today is Thanksgiving and another great reason for giving thanks.

Very nice! Those red mottled stocks seem to me to be more scarce than the Ivory or pearl. Just based on my observations of guns shown on the Forum.

Default Stocks & Top-Breaks

There is a long time collector locally who has been tricking his guns to me for several years. He is not exclusively an S&W collector, but he is in his late 80's now and lives in a retirement community with his wife now. They are not supposed to have firearms in their facility so he has them in storage and has been bringing them out to show me little by little. He also has some original Colt's including a Dragoon among others.
I have offered some of these up for sale to you guys over the past several months and will be doing the same in the near future so keep an eye out for my listings. The State of Washington just passed a seriously restrictive (but unenforceable) anti-gun law (I-594) which goes into affect on Dec. 4th so some guys are scrambling to do gun deals before that happens.
I picked up 10 Top-Breaks yesterday including what you see in this photo.
He has several more Safety Hammerless in .32 and .38 along with a few more DA .32 and .38, including some engraved guns some of which appear to be factory engraved and one is Silver Finished with pearl stocks.
Happy T-Day to all!! Tom

I agree, I seldom see these stocks and this set is in exceptional condition.
It looks fantastic on the long barreled blue finished revolver!

Tom, I suspect the medallion pearls on the .38DA are for a .38 New Departure Safety Hammerless. Clues are they are slightly too small for the DA grip frame, and depending on the serial number of the DA, medallion pearls were a later offering by the factory. Nice assemblage, however. Now go find pairs of the mottled colors in blue, green and yellow! They are much more rarer than the red & black mottled grips! God Luck, Ed. Ed.

Ed, I agree, these pearl/logo stocks are not original to the gun pictured.
I may see if I have a set of hard rubber .38 DA stocks around for this DA and try these on a .38 New Departure model, I don't believe I currently have one around but will look.

Any guns starting with Zero? If there are I'd be interested.

I agree!!
There are two sets of those grips on guns in the collection I will be picking up this week. One set is perfect, the other has a piece missing from the butt area.

Default More S&W's

Picked up 5 more Top-Breaks today, all of them Safety Hammerless Models.
One has a nice set of Ivory stocks, with no logos.
One is a very nice 6" .38 which just grabs my attention.

I plan to go back for the "Turkey" Floral gun later this week. The gun is in rough shape with mechanical issues, but the stocks are fairly nice, with no cracks.

I need to find a .38 Perfected Model to put this set of pearl/logo stocks on!!

After thinking it over I have decided to list these guns on GunBroker.
As unique and clean as some of them are, I need to stay focused on my HE collecting.
Cheers,
Tom
