Welcome to the Forum. You have what si simply called a 44 Double Action revolver. this gun was most often made in 44 Russian caliber and looking at the cylinder it looks short. The 44 Russian can be identified by the fact that the cylinder measures 1 7/16", except in later production revolvers made during the production of the 44-40 Frontier revolver, which measures 1 9/16".
There were around 55,000 made from 1881 to 1913, but all are considered antiques. Your serial number would have shipped around 1897. Your revolver has been refinished, since neither the trigger, trigger gurad, or hammer should be plated.
