Default Buy Back Model One. looking for offers

Hi Guys, Times have been tough and so I have to sell my Grandmothers Model one. It is I believe one of the buy back guns that was bought back from another manufacturer.
I really need to get the right price to part with it.
Anyone interested? It is in perfect working condition. Just some slight rubs in the chrome. I believe it is chambered for the .32 Long rim fire. Serial Number 84050. Stamped on top of barrel reads.
Smith and Wesson Springfield Mass. Pat Apr.2.55.July 5.94&Nov.21.65 and then what looks like a "S" or a "4". Cant make it out. Old eyes.
I can email Pics.

Welcome to the Forum. You do not have a Model 1, but rather a Model 1 1/2, Second Issue. These revolvers were made from 1868 to 1875 and were chambered for 32 RF Long.

There is something about the nickel finish that does not look right. The gun would have had a mirror finish and not a matte finish when it left the factory raound 1872, but the metal is very nice with sharp edges, and fine rosewood stocks. If original finish, it could be a $500 plus gun.

I would also add more pictures to your post that would aid in valuation. If you are actually going to sell it, come up with a price and post in the For Sale section. Too bad you have to let a family heirloom go.

Looks like a nice solid gun. I think the nickel is just tarnished badly. It may clean right up with elbow grease and some Flitz.
Ditto on more pictures.

I believe the term for antique, "matte" nickel is 'frosted'. Very nice un-molested Model 1 1/2. I too am sorry you feel the need to sell it. If I didn't already own nine of them, I'd be all over that one like a duck on a June bug. My advise: keep the family heirloom and sell the family dog; or a kid, or?:?
