still waiting
sent in a request for a letter to roy jinks in august. the check was cashed immediately, but I haven't heard a word about my k22. Is it normal to take over three months for a letter? If so I'll shut up and wait. I would just hate to find out the letter was sent and went to the wrong address or something. Gun has been in the family for 85 years. I suppose I can wait a little longer. Thanks,
Mike

There has been discussion that this process now takes anywhere from 4-6 months. Smith & Wesson knows that Roy is overloaded. Also, you will need to take into consideration that we are very heavy in the holiday season. I am sure that will slow it down a little as well.
It will come, just not as fast as we would like.

I am helping Mr. Jinks with letters. We are just finishing up August, so I'm sure yours will be in the mail back to you shortly. I just lettered a K-22, so it may have been yours.

still waiting
I thought I saw a post some time back that S&W wasn't accepting letter requests because they were so backed up. Is this still the case?

As I understand it from the website, they are not accepting requests for letters until after December 31 (but perhaps someone knows differently, and if so, I hope they will correct me).

Not accepting new requests until further notice----which will (almost certainly) be after 12/31.
RT
As an aside, my last letter check cleared the bank late August---the letter arrived last Wednesday.
