Welcome to the Forum. Please tell us the caliber ( .32? .38? ) and exactly what is stamped not top of the barrel rib and we can tell you what you want to know. If it is a Smith & Wesson, and not another make, it is an antique made before 1899. Ed. ( The Foremen's Daily Production logs for the Safety Hammerless models have been donated to the Springfield History Museum. Info. on manufacturing dates is listed by serial number & date, chronologically, in those logs. )
