Default .38 Double Action 3rd Model

Just picked up this top break at the LGS. Great action and does shoot. I figure the grips are NOT factory. With SN 262XXX I estimate shipping at around 1890?

First S&W I bought that has the word "REISSUE" mixed in with the patent dates.

JAN 24 65, JULY 11 65, AUG 24 69, REISSUE, JULY 25 71, MAY 11 80, JAN 3 82

I just wanted to confirm what I know.

Date and model is good. Those stocks are not original and actually appear to be made quite recently. It appears that the finish could be original, with sharp edges for all metal. Might have has a little touch-up, but looks good.
