Default From Argentina, #3 Russian Second Model, SN#37450

Francisco Pascasio Moreno (1852–1919) was a prominent explorer and academic in Argentina, where he is usually referred to as Perito Moreno (perito means "specialist, expert"). Perito Moreno has been credited as one of the most influential figures in the Argentine incorporation of large parts of Patagonia and its subsequent development.
He was a close friend of Theodore Roosevelt.
Likewise, is the father of our National Parks

This Old Model Russian, used by Moreno in their second expedition to Far South (Sept 1875) is located in Museo de la Patagonia, Bariloche, Argentina.

The gun (one of 6200 commercial units, nickel finish, shipped to Schuyler Hartley and Graham), is a document itself.
Along his journey, Moreno was writing on the nickel, with a fine needle, the names of the places found

Overwritted:

On the left side: date (start of the journey), signature and place.

Thanks for the great story and history. It looks like it's been well taken care of.
