Default safety hammerless 4th model

Hi, I bought a few years ago a safety hammerless and while it works very well overall there is one issue that i am wondering if anyone has input on. Sometimes, with the latch closed, if i pull the trigger until the hammer engages (the click sound) and then release it , it gets stuck and i cant pull the trigger again until i open the latch and close it. During normal operation - and i have already fired several hundred rounds through it -it works fine. It has good timing and rotates the cylinder with the safety pressed in each time, if i let the hammer hit the firing pin. I'm just curious why it locks up sometimes on me when i release it from the cocked position. I have taken apart the revolver before to clean it but didnt really notice anything wrong, and i have always had this issue. I can actually pull the trigger as much as i want and be able to keep pulling it after releasing it, just not if i let it cock the hammer...well sometimes. Hope it makes at least some sense what im trying to say. thanks

Are you talking about the first clicking sound you hear as you pull the trigger? With the action open, put your finger over the cylinder stop and slowly pull the trigger. The first sound you hear is the stop snapping up above the frame. If it binds when that happens, there might be some type of interference with the stop and the hand. If the hand was firmly trying to push the cylinder, at the same time the stop pops up, then the hand may be worn and not moving the cylinder ahead before the stop re-engages the cylinder slot??? My cylinder turns almost half-way to the next cylinder before you hear the click.

Do you know exactly what happens when you break open the gun? Is there any indication that the hand is engaged or the stop is binding the cylinder? If that is not the problem, internal wear could be the culprit, but I have never had a Safety act like your describing, so kind of stuck without having the gun in my hands. How about having a gunsmith take a look at it?

Probably is a good idea to take it apart and look more closely or have a smith take a look. With the latch open and working the trigger, there is no interference in the cylinder stop. It moves up and down smoothly. It is just weird because if i let the gun rotate and shoot normally it will have zero problems. But if i hold the trigger down until i hear the click ( this is with the action closed), and then let go, sometimes i cant pull the trigger again. The hand is in very good condition, and doesn't look worn at all. I'm just thinking maybe something is making the safety stick, because it acts like the safety is not pressed in when it is in fact pressed all the way in. Thanks for the reply by the way
