How about James or Jonathan A. Browning? (some of JMB's siblings and their offspring).
Surely there could be a "Jr." in the line somewhere.....

(What would that do to the value???)

Good luck with whatever you decide to do with it. I really would like to add it to the stable of Club Guns I have. But, I won't be a player.

Well, guys ... I "thought" I saw this one advertised somewhere today. Don, it's way out of the realm that you're accustomed to paying (when you do pay for one instead of dumpster finds).

It may be nice looking, it may be a 0 prefix, but the ask I "thought" I saw is "out there" in cyberspace for one with no provenance, an unknown engraver (and unknown time frame of engraving) ... and serial number not recorded in S&W records !

Default JAB Jr

I acquired a USRA 1909-1924 booklet with a lot of info for those years with a state by state roster for the members mailing address in 1924, with more provenance for James A Baker Jr. which should erase most doubt about the original owner. Connecitcut roster shows his 1924 address as stated in previous post, on pages with USRA officers, it show's he was a vice president in 1917, and also the supply officer for the 1920 USRA Olympic pistol & revolver team.

One more thing ... James Addison Baker III was Reagan's chief of staff. He's still alive, and he was on the Board of Trustees at Rice University, so it shouldn't be hard to dig up his contact information. It's a long shot, but he may remember his dad's gun (if it was indeed his).
