Straight Line shipping box
This is an extremely rare Straight Line cardboard shipping box. This was in the collection of the late Charlie Duffy. His son Mike gave it to me to give to Ernie Rice.

Don, Isn't this the standard 12 X 6 inch Kraft box S&W used for shipping any of their larger size guns of the period, as well as a Straightline ? Ed.

Ed,
I don't know of another period Smith & Wesson that would be the size of a Straight Line shipping box. I think these came from the firm that made the steel cases for Smith & Wesson. You can faintly see the outline of the case on the inside of the box, highlighted by the round logo in the center.

I don't know. It was a gift. How do you put a price on something that you can't estimate the survival rate.
