Default Which variation is this?

Here is one and some parts that I just picked up for $90 OTD. I don't have the serial # available. Which model variation og the .32 Safety Hammerless is this? Will the barrels interchange?

It appears to be a 1st model 32 Safety Hammerless, but there could be mixed parts. It may be theoretically possible for the other barrel to fit, but it does not appear worthy of attempting it. I am guessing this is a put together form misc. parts, and would be leery of attempting to use it.

Hello Charles, you made an all right buy for $90. Looks like a lot of fun for a cheap price. Have to agree, dont shoot it. Best

My plan is to switch the barrels in orders for the finish to match and put it in a shadow box in my office.

Best,
Charles

Why are folks leery of shooting this old S&W assuming that all parts are present and the gun functions as designed? Assuming that correct loads will be used and no +P is desired.

I have several old project guns on the table and once the snow starts falling and outside work is curtailed for a few months, I plan to bring several old work horses back to life. Having examined many of the parts, including internal ones, I would feel quite safe firing one of my antiques.
