32 safety hammerless 1st model
Hello, I am the new proud owner of this gem. 1st model with a box. all numbers match...232** what year of manufacture?

Shipped in 1890. Great combination - does the box have the serial number written on the bottom?
If you hand this revolver to someone who has never used one before, they would probably not be able to load it. Even the instructions leave something to be desired.
Place thumb on barrel catch . . . Press backward and downward, when the frame may be carried down and the pistol opened.

You can be justly proud, it looks great. Just enough wear to show it wasn't only a sock drawer gun, but really well cared for.

I have a smith and wesson springfield mass u.s.a PAT May 11th 1880 Jan 13th 1882 April 9th 1889. Can anybody tell me any info on this gun. Thanks

I saw some numbers but not my serial number..

Too bad about the numbers, but that is the serial number of the gun as it left the factory with that box. Maybe 9724?? It means that the box was not original to your gun, but still a nice combination with the correct vintage of an authentic S&W box.
