Default SW n° 1 - 3° issue boxed

Hi,

I have in collection this SW n° 1 - 3 issue 22 revolver.

It's a luxus model, 2 tone, nickel and gold washed with ivory grips, number 808XX.

The revolver is boxed in this box. It's the good box for a n°1 - 3 issue ?

I never seen before a box for a SW 22 !

The box is in 2 parts not built with a tilting top as a 32 or 38 DA.

Somebody know it ?

Yes, a very nice gun! Is the serial number written on the bottom of the box?

Nice 1st Model, 3rd Issue revolver! The box is not correct for your revolver. It is for a New Model 1 1/2, .32 Center Fire revolver that was manufactured around 1875.

a 32 SA don't fit the box: the revolver is too big ... it's the same box but smaller and built with a Removable top.

definitively no way for a 32 ...

It's seems me very old and original but I don't know if it's for this gun ?

Somebody know if the box for the n°1 3 issue exist ?

In the instructions, it notes lifting the catch to full height and tip the barrel forward", so it is for a top-break revolver and not a tip-up rimfire. It also mentions that the cartridges for that revolver are reloadable, which is not possible for a rimfire casing.

The Model 1, 3rd Issue did come in a box or case. The early boxes did not have an end label. It is, however, an early box and may have been for a 32 Double Action??

The Model 1 is very nice and I wonder if it would letter to being a two-tome gun? Might be worth the money to get a factory letter.

sorry, I'am wrong.

Yes, a 32 SA could fit but with a short barrel and I don't have it ! certainly a 3'

So my gold washed n°1 will wait a good box ...

Yes, I can ask a letter but it's no so easy from France.

Amazing acquisition. Did it come from an estate?

Yes, it's coming from a estate.

I buy it because it's look very nice and the condition is good.

The price was not so expensive: I pay it 750 $.

The worth is the same in the USA ?

The box will fit later a 32 SA ...

If the finish and grips are from the factory, then you got a very good deal, even without the box. We would pay more in the USA.

Regardless of the incorrect box, that is one beautiful revolver and one that anyone would love to have in their collection. Should you decide that the box is more important to you than the gun, let me know.
