38 S&W safety hammerless 5th change
Hello, Recent Purchase I was able to buy the 38 S&W safety hammerless with original wood grips. As I was going over it I noticed that the top of the barrel its a single line address? I read a snippet in the S&W collector 4th edition about the single line address for 15? Well hopefully the experts are watching.

That's a neat looking gun and looks original. All mine have the shorter barrels. The longer the better to me. The experts will tell you what you need to know about the address. I am no expert on these, although I am guessing a later edition of this model. . .maybe 1920's.

What's the serial number ? Are the "original" wood grips numbered to the gun ? Ed.

Serial number is 252817. I can faintly see the last 3 digits on right grip.
