Default 1908 DA 38 Top Break

Still digging through my cases of old guns bought nearly 40 years ago. This one is all original with matching grips. They all had matching grips 40 years ago. It's kind of almost a new gun with mint grips. Some nickel loss in places. Still around an 80% gun from the exterior perspective. Back in the day you could buy these for $35 each and have your pick of the litter. Today most everything I see this old is junk. I think they called this one the Baby Russian. In 1980 I bought real 1880 patent Russian for $100 and got to pick from nearly ten of them. I may need to invest in a time machine.

I use to walk by that same pile of old "useless" revolvers..only I kept walking. Not any longer. Well constructed and they have a simplicity that's hard to explain until you hold one. I'm still looking forward to shooting one for the first time.

When's the range report?

DocB: The Baby Russian was a spur trigger single action, the first model .38 SA. It was also the first gun to use the .38 S&W cartridge.
