Default Wesson & Harrington 38

I picked up this old Wesson & Harrington revolver recently in 38 rimfire. The Internet says there were only about 500 made in the 1870's. Does Smith & Wesson have any shipping records for these guns?

No, S&W has no records for Wesson & Harrington firearms. I doubt if there are any surviving records for them, or that only 500 were made, as they show up more often than if 500 is a correct estimate. The firm was founded in 1871 by Frank Wesson and Gilbert Harrington, and shortly became Harrington & Richardson. Ed.

Thanks for the info on the records.

The 22's and 32's are common. This is the larger frame 38 rimfire. From what I've seen it's the model number 4 which has a 1 1/4" cylinder and 3 1/2" barrel. Hope it's the model no. 4.
