Default 38 Single Action 2nd Model w/ pearl stocks
I just picked up this little beauty up here in Canada.
Near as I can guess it should date to early 1887 with a serial number of 100xxx.
Look to be original pearl stocks.
I've heard that the US Army tested some of these but then turned them over to US Marshal's Office. Anyone heard that?

US Army ? Marshal's Office ? Haven't heard that one, unless the test was for Paper Weights. Ed.

"Anyone heard that?". Nope. Sounds like a sales hype. BTW, that is a nice 2nd Model, 2nd Issue, .38 revolver.
