Default Looking for Parts for model 1870 pocket rifle

I recently purchased a Frank Wesson model 1870 Pocket rifle that is missing the hammer and rear sight. I am looking for parts to repair and make it functional. I am also looking for a schematic for it, as I have 2 machinists in my family that may be able to reproduce the parts I need if I can find an exploded view of it. Any help is most definitely appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the Forum. Frank Wesson pocket rifles come up for sale in auctions occasionally and at guns shows and are not complicated firearms. Any good gunsmith should be able to fabricate a hammer from scratch, or modify a hammer from a S&W Model 2 Army model. Likewise with a rear sight, however the cost will far exceed any value the gun has, so it would have to be an expenditure of love, in my opinion. Ed.

Default Frank Wesson model 1870

Thank you for the information it is much appreciated. For me it is not as much a labor of love as it is the challenge of taking a nonfunctioning piece of history and making it functional again.
I noticed you are a Veteran. Thank you for your service.

Ed also served in the War of Northern Aggression but doesn't like to talk about it.

Somehow I don't think Ed is quite that old.

James, If we had the MOAB, we would have won that war against all those Northern Aggressor Terrorists! Ed.

Although my people were still in the "old Country" back then, we are all Southern sympathizers. I still fly the Civil War era ( new flag to old specs) Florida State flag (looks exactly like the most popular Rebel flag with the State of Florida insignia in the center) and a 50 star USA flag on the other side of the entrance way / driveway to my property but my Civil War flag keeps getting stolen.
