Default Identify an old top break revolver

I was given this revolver years ago in it's current condition. I was told it was passed down from the donee's uncle and had been in a box in the garage for deades. It shows.
I oiled it to halt further deterioration and put it away. I recently "rediscovered" it and a quick google search leads me to believe it is a S&W Model #3 but I havent seen an identical model. I suspect a few modifications were done but don't know.
It is a top break 6 shot. I mic'd the cylinders at approx .44 caliber.
Serial number on the bottom of the butt is 13494. The cylinder and rear latch/sight have matching numbers.
The barrel is exactly 5"" with fixed sights (cut down at some point?) but doesn't show tooling marks to indicate a bubba job. The front sight is staked in.
There is a small strain screw protruding from the front lower strap.
The gun opens, the cylinder rotates freely, hammer cocks and releases with trigger and there is rifling evident in the barrel. The ejector is however missing.
I am interested in any information anyone has about it's date of manufacture.

Neat old S&W. I am 'way outside my expertise on these early firearms. Given the serial number and a short perusal of the S&W Catalog 4th edition, I would guess it is a Second Model American (Model No. Three 2nd Model Single Action.) You are correct that the barrel has been shortened but the sight is similar to the original which was also pinned in place.

If I am correct, and others will be along shortly with better information, the serial number range was from 8000 to 32800 with 20,735 manufactured circa 1872-1874.

Catalog says a key to identification of this model is a "bump on the bottom of the frame" which I don't see on your revolver. So all my speculation may be totally wrong.

Thanks!
This pic shows further proof of barrel shortening with the "USA Patent" marking being interrupted.

Along with any info anyone can give, how would I go about getting ejector parts? Not to shoot but to make it a complete revolver.
Thanks!
