32 New Departure with Engraving - Need help to ID
To all,
I just bought a .32 Safety Hammerless Model, aka New Departure Model. I have a factory letter giving some particulars.Serial number is 151130, shipped 12/19/1906. 2 inch barrel, nickel finish and shipped with black hard rubber grips. "The star next to the serial number indicates that this revolver was returned to the factory for rework or refinishing. We have no idea what was completed on it's return to the factory." Roy. G. Jinks
It's nickel finish and has wonderful engraving and is 90-95% plus on finish. I'd like to know if this could be or is factory engraving, if not, is there a level or grade of this engraving and I'd like to know what it's worth...Thank you in advance...Eddie

First, welcome to the Smith & Wesson Forum!
Now...are you sure about that shipping date? Smith & Wesson stopped making these revolvers in 1940, if I'm not mistaken.

I've seen the letter. The revolver shipped on December 19, 1906.

Thanks Billy
I appreciate the kudos, I fell in love with it, I am wondering what almost everyone wonders and that is - What's it worth? It is unique and there's no book that I've found or comparables online that give me a value on it - I paid a lot of cat food for this meow and want to know if I can ever recoup my investment if needs be.
