Default 1900 S&W Price List as competitive pricing ?

It is OK for this to be in antiques section as it has descriptions and prices of models made from 1900 and back.

I found this while straightening up. I'm sure I'll find much more.

I don't think a 1900 S&W price list qualified as a "competitive" pricing 117 years later.

I know a few of our members that still refer to these old price lists as competitive pricing.

To quote a friend: The guys that "toss nickels around line manhole covers". LOL.

Enjoy it guys. Save a copy of this as a gift from me to you.
As this system limits the rate of enlargement it may not be readable well here. The system also cuts down the quality of the image to fit the site's requirements.

If you copy it to your computer then open it with your own photo program it will enlarge well enough to read easily.

If you want a really well scanned copy of it just EMAIL me your request. Please do NOT message me, just EMAIL the request for 1900 S&W Price List.

Thank you sir. Now I just need to finish building my time machine and get 2 or 3 of each!

All kidding aside, the avg. wage of all classes of people - men, women and children was just a hair over $10 a week. These Smiths weren't inexpensive.

If I can remember where I parked the DeLorean, we'll take a ride together. I have a few thousand in pre 1900 money I'd like to invest.

Interesting to note that pearl grips were a costlier item than ivory grips.

That's cause there were more elephants than clams. Think about it. How many grips can you carve out of a tusk. You shoot a clam, how many does it yield?

some close ups of Single Shot (1891 ) and revolver options, then, SUNDRIES which included optional components, sights, loading tools, and the BLUE or NICKEL finish as well as a SILVER and GOLD finish options.

I never considered any one of my old S&Ws to possibly be SILVER plated.

If you click on the thumbnail photo it will enlarge, if you click on the enlargement it will enlarge again and for those with decent eyes or good glasses it can be read. FWIW.

In regard to my flipping coins like man hole covers, Dumpster Don's name was just removed from my will under club guns.

"If you click on the thumbnail.." When I do I get a greyed out screen/page. Some thumbnails open; some don't. Nothing opens on this post. Is this an IE problem or am I not 'holding your mouth right' as my mother would say?

I'm on IE also and the thumbnails open for me. Check the location of your tongue in relation to your eye teeth and adjust accordingly. Maybe that will help.

Oooh, I'll try it but my eyes are brown and we all know what causes that.

Sal, unfortunately, I don't own any model 3's. I have a few 1's and a 2 but haven't gotten to the 3's yet.

Mike, sorry I can't help you. I'm still using AOL but it works for me. Sometimes it will take the thumbnail and place it in the top left corner of the page but when I close that screen low and behold there is another screen behind it with a large image of whatever I was trying to look at. I can't explain how any of this works, I just know some buttons to push and what that does on my computer.

Sal, I have many of these price sheets, but not the 1900 sheet. I would love to have this one, but when I download them, the resolution is such that they cannot be read. Is there a way to improve resolution or is that what happens when they go through the upload process on this site?

James, You , Ed and Ralph will still be here after the rest of us are gone. I'll likely be gone before you are so I will put you in my will for my Smith & Wesson chrome toilet flusher collection you so admire. BTW I didn't even know S&W made those things until Roy mentioned it a few months back when commenting on the Chrome 1905 / 4ths.

I had spoken with Don a few years back when I had my first near miss with the grim reaper about all my paper but there's nothing I have that he does not have a better quality nor less than dozen of. (Don has some serious paper amongst other things).

The really unusual stuff like Harry Pope letters, Walter Roper letters and a few DB letters I'll likely leave to our museum but I hope to make them wait for it as long as possible.

Hope I can see you in Charlotte, God willing.

I don't know about that. I am somewhere between Social Security and death so not sure when my turn is coming.

Don't think that Charlotte is in the cards this year. Was planning to attend my annual Primitive Rendezvous on the 24th through the 31st when the bride decided that she might go instead of staying home with the two fur babies. Now looking at over $1,000 for vet and boarding expenses to make that trip happen. That kind of blows a hole in any plans to go to Charlotte. $1,000 also buys a nice S&W so even the rendezvous trip is in the air.

I sometimes wish I was rich instead of good looking.

That's ok, Kathy has me on speed dial! When you leave for more than 3 days, she calls asking for updates on prices.
