Default 44 Russian/4inch Factory barrel.

I have acquired this S&W Revolver, and am trying to get a correct model or identification for it. after looking in the Blue Book, it is a little confusing? It looks to have a 4 inch factory barrel, and it is a six shot. The Serial number is 57XX. Thanks! Eric

That's not nearly enough information. Please read the sticky post on how to ID your gun. Also pictures will help a lot.

Eric, from your "4 inch factory barrel, and it is a six shot" description; I'll suggest that you have a .44 Double Action revolver. As others have mentioned; a little more info would be very helpful for us to identify exactly which model you have.

This 44 Double Action First Model has 279xx serial number and shipped in Oct, 1890
