Top break 4th model hammer fly
I have a S&W top break 4th model, what I need is a picture of the hammer fly with the spring. The fly on this gun is fine but there are no pics anywhere of what the spring should look like. I included a pic of the fly and the fly next to hammer. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum. There are a few different Fourth Model top-breaks, so we need more information. There is a 32 Double Action, 4th Model, a 38 Double Action, 4th Model, and a 38 Safety, 4th Model (which I don't think has that type of hammer??). Anyway, images and additional information about the revolver would help us narrow down which parts you are looking for?

It's a S&W 38 3rd model SA/DA 5 shot chambered in 38 s&w. It has a 3 1/4" barrel with nickel plated finish. Uses the new style bolt stop and new trigger(no spring or plunger required for the inside of the trigger). It also has a pinned front sight and removable small side plate. Here are some more pics.

Looks like a .32 DA in the photos. 38S&W must be a typo. What's the serial number? Ed.

I was incorrect about the model so I edited it but it's a 38 DA 3rd model. And it is chambered in .38. Serial # indicates it was built between 1884-1895. The antiques firearms assembly/disassembly book has a good pic but none of the fly or fly spring. If anyone has a model like this I just need a pic of the fly with spring.
