Default Extended Pat 1892 Grips

So, I was browsing on EBAY and these things pop up. . .bid or buy for $99. I put the old "watch" on them. First one to do that. A few hours later, I get back to the house, and they have 10 watches. These things are rare. Most nice ones are still attached to the guns they came with (1st or 2nd model Single Shot), and they didn't make many of those. I grabbed them knowing they would be lost in another hour. Arrived today. Stone cold mint! I had to clean out the screw holes as well as clean the screws themselves. A little old grunge on the inside that I cleaned out. I don't own a Single Shot, but will someday. Looks like I'm building one from the bottom up. I stuck them on this Double Action 38 shipped in 1908 just to see them on a gun. The bad news is that about the same day a pair of Floral grips came up. If I remember correctly, it was $59 starting bid and $79 buy it now. Some complete idiot bid the $59 before I had a chance to grab them. Buy it now goes away once a bid is taken. They went for $170 when the bidding closed. That's good news for the seller. Bad news for me, and really bad news for the guy who bought them. A hundred dollar bill wasted. Oh well, you can't get everything, but I did get these.

You DONE GOOD!!

I bought an as new pair almost 17 years ago---come next week (2000 SWCA Meeting) for $250--and was thrilled to death----I still am.

It was one of those "Where the hell am I going to get some of these?" deals----and there they were!

I would have probably paid that too. . . us older guys know that these things just never show up. Been to too many shows and too many stores. I'm still waiting for a beat-to-mess single shot to show up. . .one that I can afford! I've never seen one for sale. I'm ready for when it comes my way though. Really ready now. Got the grips. Good to go.
