That helps. It is a .32 Double Action from the mid-1890 decade if the SN is 165295. It looks to be in better than average condition for a gun of this vintage. Does it function normally and is there any pitting in the bore or chambers?

It functions vary well the pitting I see is on the out side of the cylinder and the back side of the cylinder the board looks nice and just some discoloration on the front of the chambers.

Welcome to the Forum. Your 32 Double action, 4th Model is an antique and would have shipped 1890-1891. Condition looks good, but a close-up look would be required to give an accurate assessment. The revolver takes 32 S&W ammunition that is available at large stores and online. All standard ammo is safe for your gun. Performance is underwhelming, with slow velocity, light weight projectile, often bouncing off trees, rather than penetrating the wood.

Value is very low for these guns. The comments above, coupled with the facts that there were over 300,000 of the 32 DA made, puts values at under $300 in excellent condition at auction.

Thank you all so much for the info. I was only looking for the history of the gun ,but with the estimated value you have provided I at least know that I didn't over pay back when I got it.
