just received this gun today from an acquaintance that i made several years ago at a gun show . He is a S&W collector and shooter and we would meet at the show and swap storied and show each other our guns ,he knew that i also liked older S&W guns . About a year ago he brought in a beautiful blue new departure in 38 S&W to show me no marks ,no turn ring, pristine grips .I dont think the gun had ever been shot .Well today he came in and walked the whole show before coming to my table.I had seen him and wondered what he was showing the other dealers , cane to my table and handed me a sheep fleece lined flap holster i opened it and their was the NEW DEPARTURE,and he asked if i wanted to buy it .He had refused many offers walking the show and i later found out he told several dealers that the gun was mine to buy if i wanted it ,it wasn't for general sale. Well I ended up with it although i had not sold very much at the show .hope i can get some pictures to post. People wonder why i love gun shows so much .Because of the relationships we can build with other like minded people
