Can anyone tell me what box would be correct for a blue 3 1/4 " barrel 38s&w new departure made @ 1939-1940 S/N 260203

A "Display" box. It is a brown colored box that is hinged at the bottom rear and would have either a yellow or green label on the end denoting the gun inside; caliber, barrel length and finish. The 'operating' instructions would be printed inside the lid in English (left side) and Spanish (right side).
