Default Top Break Smith & Wesson need help to Id

Need some help identifying this revolver.

Top break
Double and single
44 spl/mag and 45 acp fits in cylinder
6.5" barrel
Serial number 222xx
Cylinder removes to eject shells... unless a part is broken, does look like something suppose to do it.

Revolver seems to function just fine, in time, BUT the trigger does not return. Meaning I have to push the trigger back toward the muzzle to pull it again.
Brought this from a relative estate and was wonder value? Did I spend too much?
Will add pictures in next post, issues

It's probably a Belgian or Spanish "copy" of a S&W double action. (A copy only in the sense that it is similar in shape.) Original caliber may have been .44-40 or something European. It is certainly not anything anyone would ever want to try and fire and any value (low) is only as a wall hanger.

Welcome to the forum.

Agree that it is not a S&W. S&W always placed the serial number on the gun butt except for some models with over sized target stocks where the serial number was moved to the front of the grip strap.

The barrel rib marking imitates a S&W but is not correct for a S&W. As Tom stated it is most likely a Spanish or Belgian copy and not really worth much. Add to that the rough condition and it is really just an interesting side note in firearm history with no real monetary value.

Agree with above. I would not fire this one at all, despite what will fully chamber in the charge holes (but especially not .44 Magnum)...
