S&W Letter / 2nd Model Nickel SS Target .22LR
Received Roy Jinks factory letter today confirming the 2nd model single shot target pistol, nickel plated, shipped with 8 inch barrel & black hard rebber target grips was shipped in last production year of 1909. Always nice to have a letter that matches the pistol as well as the prompt reply to the letter request.

This is why you spring for a letter.
It is a small expense that lasts forever.
You got a gem. Best, Mike

gun polished
I bought this as I already have two 1st model single shot pistols & two 3rd models, so was missing the 2nd, the 8 inch barrel and nickel to boot was a plus. I also own a Colt Camp Perry as well as a H&R USRA model single shot pistols, plus a really nice Belgian made copy of a Stevens Lord single shot with a 12 inch barrel. Today I also received a bottle of Flitz polish, unable to buy locally, it worked really well to remove most of the light chaulky looking nickel. Now it is really evened out & shiny from what it was.

Polished with Flitz
Before & after photos. Second photo is after polishing with Flitz. The first shows darker spots along side of barrel, second shows pretty much all blended together for nice shine.

Beautiful. A nickle original plated SS is a scarce one, in any barrel length. I have an 8" barrel on mine and love the way it balances.

The Flitz worked wonders on that one. Beautiful.
I'd really like to try an 8" single shot sometime. All of mine are 10 inchers. I'll bet the 8 balances nicely.
