S&W .38 Double-Action 3rd model.New in box?
Well..could be. While looking through the safe I came across this old beauty so thought I'd share some snapshots.The condition is so nice I doubt I could upgrade. Now the problem is it's so damn cute I want to shoot it. It has a nice single and DA trigger.

Does the bore look as good as the chambers? To me that is the tell, also
the grip screw looks mint. Best.

Yes..bore is a mirror.I can't really afford many guns in this condition..but when an example of a model comes along that you need..you buy it. The little .38 makes me smile every time I "discover" it again. Kind of the pre-pre-36. HKS 5 shot 38 J frame speedloader works perfectly on those 38 S&Ws.
I feel like I'm 13 again and going to sneak out Dads .38 and shoot it..only his was a model 15. Good times.

Would I shoot it, NO! buy something that is in shooter shape.
You have a pristine example as new as it left the shop. But, it is your gun
and if it makes you smile, just enjoy it.

Bang! Well..maybe another day. Box is pretty spiffy..even the hinge is tight. Looks like the serial number on the bottom..hard to see. Sure looks like it spent it's entire life in that stuffy home. Needs some fresh air..ha! Might be the price on the outer label...it looks like $13.85. Talk about inflation!

Thank you for the pictures. It is a remarkable beauty.
I just bought one that does not look anywhere nearly even slightly close to almost so nice. It is a very nice shooter, likes .362 LRN with a little Unique and .358 LHBWC over Trail Boss loaded out to the same OAL. Everything is non-corrosive and easy to clean. Not that I am encouraging you to shoot it. Unless you want to
