Default My new model 1 3rd issue

Just got back from the Marlboro, MA gun show and the only antique that was even worth looking at was a Model 1 3rd issue serial number 70415. Condition is not too bad and even though I have a couple of others, I felt it needed a good home. Springs are real stiff and no side play at all. Asking price was $250 and I offered $200 which he took.

WOW, you got a heck of a deal on that one. I'd rate that about excellent. I never seem to find them in that good a condition for anywhere near that price.

Thanks all. The real scary part is that I am really falling in love with these little guns. I keep searching for the elusive 1st, 1st, 1st to fall into my lap but no such luck yet.

Very nice condition for a gun that has been used. Prior owner must have taken very good care of it. Related to your other thread on 22 ammo, this is the model I usually shoot at the range. Knowing that the original ammo for these guns ran about 600 fps, I shoot 22 CB Shorts that chronograph at 450 fps in the Model 1. I do not know if CCI makes this cartridge now, but you still run into packs of 100 at gun shows. Sellers have a high price tag on them, but a box lasts me a couple years.

FYI, both CB Caps and BB Caps are good rounds for this gun. BB Caps run 400 fps and CB Caps chronograph at 475 fps.

"The real scary part is that I am really falling in love with these little guns." And one day you will realize that they have multiplied in your gun safe.
