Default .38 SH cylinder stop

Is there a book, video, website that shows how to replace a cylinder stop? Also, the gun is S/N 408X, I read somewhere this is in 1st model range,but...the latch is 2nd model style.
Old gun ,fair shape,I think it will shoot.
I bought a used cylinder stop from NUMRICH.
THANKS

The 1st Model had what was called the Z-bar and one has to compress the bars on both sides of the top frame to open the gun. This went away around serial number 5250. The revolver would have probably shipped on the first year of production - 1887. Guy just provided a good source for finding information on how to take these guns apart and put them back together. Chicoine authored another book, Antique Firearms Assembly/Disassembly that has your model with schematic and detailed photos. Gunsmithing Guns of the Old West has 5 pages devoted to the 38 Safety revolver and Antique Firearms has 13 pages for this model.

Gary,
Thanks for the heads up on the assembly/disassembly book. It turns out there is a sale on the digital version of this book that makes it a no brainer for my library.

Having both books helps me out quite often. Too bad they have all that Colt, Winchester, etc. stuff in there.
