My #1 shooting and handloading partner and best friend passed away in Feb , and I will be purchasing some of his guns from his widow . I want to come up with some fair valuations.
This one is a 1904 mfg 4th Mdl DA .38 breaktop , 4in blued . Nice shooter ( I've shot it ), fairly nice condition for a shooter ,.nothing rare or uber collectable variations ( he researched it carefully) . Fair valuation ? $300-350 ?
I don't know what other guns you mean to purchase, nor do I know your buddy's family situation; but for one belonging to a very close friend I personally would offer $300. That's just me.
Would be looking to pickup 3-6 items. At this point looking to get some ideas for myself, and the rounding up will be on the total .
Given the differences in cost of living , our situations are more or less similar .
At least this one is Simple . My other inquiry here has two clusters 1/3 apart . I knows prices of Win 94AE and JM Marlins in low production cals are all over the map . And I can't take the purist view that the work he did to Swedish Huskvarna Mauser for long range accuracy make it worth less .
