Partially squeezing the trigger will drop the rear sear (single action sear) away from the bottom of the hammer and simultaneously move the front sear up so that it can hook on the hammer (square boss on the hammer front). It still may be necessary to move both of the sears out of the way. I use a scribe to move them while dropping the hammer on the pivot pin. The tolerances are tight on the hammer pivot pin so the hammer must be perpendicular to the shaft as it is installed. I'm guessing that it will take a few tries to get it installed as it isn't easy. Please give us an update when you have it installed.
