What makes you think it is a wallhanger? It looks shootable to me. Have it checked out and fire it.

Got a bunch of them I bought back in the 70s. All ways amazed me how great they fire and the grips even survived. Shoot them prudently.

It functions flawlessly, I just thought it is so old better to just appreciate its form. I also have a No. 1 and a No. 1.5 I've never fired also.

I couldn't agree more. If they lock up tight and the cylinder revolves properly there's no reason not to shoot them. Modern ammunition is loaded with these oldies in mind! I certainly enjoy shooting the examples I have.

I like'em
That's my Dad's (deceased) cigarette case/lighter in the picture. Same initials as mine REB.
Wasn't his S&W though. I thought the case and ammo looked pretty good with the gun.

I was out to lunch mentally, this is neither black powder nor rimfire. I'll blame old age, and the excitement of uploading pictures successfully.

I agree. I think a wallhanger is made with vodka, orange juice and a smidge of Galliano.

Just the other day while shooting the 1911 Colt I posted, we also shot my Model 1-1/2 single action top break in 32 s&w. It is 136 years old but still went bang with each pull of the trigger. Now accuracy at 25 feet is another story.

About wallhangers...
Sir,
Almost every firearm I've acquired was a shooter. Some
had less than perfect barrels or chambers, but I wouldn't
buy a gun I couldn't shoot, except for an offbrand that had ivory
grips.
If it's shootable(sic), fire some shots at a target, and use the target as a background in a shadow box. That's just my two cents worth.
That's a nice firearm there. Congrats.

That case/lighter brought back long forgotten memories. I had one like it, color, size, etc. but never had my initials engraved, on it. I loaned it to a, so called "friend", while we were in high school, and he never returned it. That second model, .38 "Lemon Squeezer", and it's ammo look great, to me.
