Yes, S&W made many different revolvers with the same SNs. More vital statistics are needed and a picture or two will also help.

Looking for information on this pistol:
S&W Top Break, hidden hammer, S/N 29641, .32 S&W short, 3 1/2" Bbl., fixed sights,with strain screw.

It's a .32 Safety Hammerless First Model. Manufactured 1888-1902, SN range 1-91417. Probably about 1/3 the way, early-mid 1890s.

While these were not necessarily shipped sequentially, this will get you a bit closer: My 35647 shipped in June of 1892.

My 1st mod safety was shipped June 1890, #17119. You're sort of in the middle of those two #'s.
