Default "UU3" on Mod 1 2nd Iss

Colleagues

My Mod 1 2nd Iss SN 51841 has what seems to be "UU3" stamped on the breech face/cyl end/right frame handle tip.

The "U"s have a short "tail" extending out of the left bottom of the "U".

Any idea what the symbols mean?

Those were assembly numbers/letters used by the factory to keep the fitted parts together after finishing. No worries. They are correct for the revolver.

Thinking (for once), if those numbers and letters did NOT match then one would have a put together revolver.

Mr. Maher is correct. That assembly letter/number/symbol sequence should match on the cylinder and frame. If it doesn't, then the gun was a post-factory "put together" from parts.
