Something a little different Model of 1891
Model of 1891 mounted in the stock advertised below.
From the 1908 Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalog.
I have several long barreled .32 and .38 caliber Top-Breaks and New Departures that look just as neat in that stock.

Nice set up. I'm a sucker for stocked pistols and revolvers; especially a NM#3 in blue. Your Model of '91 is nice.

Skeleton Stocks
Those early Skeleton Stocks are neat. The value on them has soared also! There was another one that was pretty common that has a round tip and normally is shown with the Colt Lightning revolver but early ads prove it was a general purpose stock as well. Both type stocks have gone up huge in value! As well they should!

Not that well. Awkward would be a word I'd use to describe it.
The stock sits low on the shoulder, and it is tough to find the sights because the pistol is so high. Give me a .22 rifle any day for gophers and tin cans.
But it sure is an awesome accessory......

Different variations
Here are just a few more that were available. It was actually quite popular in the mid to late 1880’s to use stocks on cheap revolvers and I guess it made sense to some folks who wanted both a pistol and the ability to shoot farther more accurately without having to haul a rifle. ( Back then when they were heavy!)
