Default Identity Help Wanted

Acquired this afternoon a revolver not anywhere near my sphere of knowledge, but I know its all here with you all. I'll describe as best I can in case the pic I try to attach doesn't work. What I can tell:

Top-Break, Double action W/ visible hammer
38 S&W (not marked as such)
fixed sights
SN: 437xxx (six digits)
small logo right side
last patent date: April 9 1888/9? (on top of bbl)
3 1/4" bbl
Black hard rubber grips
rear of trigger guard squared
refinished blue

I'll try to add pic, but any help and info given the above would sure help.

Well the 38 DA was made in 1896 to 1909 and has been refinished but not by Smith & Wesson. Probably worth about $100 to $150.

Refinish looks better in person, didn't wipe all the oil that was already on it before (poor)pic. I know its not valuable collector piece, it's tight and aside from currently leaded bbl looks neat and should shoot ok. Hoping to get model name/variant and approximate age.
