Default Early gun!

Wow,
Serial number 23 no less. He didn't mention it but it also has the single screw side plate. Amazing condition for that early of a gun! I have one of the first hundred made also. Serial number 9x. Mine has that rare non functioning safety screw like this one but isn't anywhere near this condition. The earliest guns had tiny serial numbers that were not deep stamped. I'm also surprised that this one is nickel plated? Mine is blued with wood grips, matching. I've found that most of the lowest serial number Baby Russians under serial number 100 are blued so? I'd definitely want a letter on this one.

6500 of the 25,000+ Baby Russians were blue; the remainder were nickel. The majority of the blue revolvers had wood stocks. 169 blue revolvers had either black hard rubber, ivory or pearl stocks.

Edit: 169 not 269 as previously stated.
