Anyone have a hammer stud nut for a Smith & Wesson 32 DA 4th Model Revolver
Hi,
I'm looking for a hammer stud nut to hold the sideplate on of a 32 Double Action Fourth Model Revolver. I've gone to the regular channels on the web with little luck.
If you have one in your parts bin and it's available, let me know?

Yup, gunpartscorp.com is out of stock. Did you check Jack First? If not call them and ask, since they claim they are available online. Remember that the stud nut is the same for both the 32 DA and the 32 Safety, as well as the 38 DA and 38 Safety, so any of the nuts from the 4 models are interchangeable.

Jacks has newly manufactured ones for $27 delivered which is a bit too crazy a price as everyone else who has used ones have them delivered for less than $10. I can wait to find an original one.

Chicago screws
Hey Army,
I have a lot of parts but I can't spare one of these sorry, but I can direct you to a viable option if you take your time looking you'll find a matching stud cap. You might have to use a dremmel to fit the cap but this type of a stud cap is based on the "Chicago" screw design. Look it up on Google. I've done this before and it works well. Can't tell they are replacements either once you fit one to the side plate.
I'll let you in on a little secret too.....That's how the reproductions are made!!

First has many repro parts that aren't available anywhere else but they aren't cheap! I needed this part Stevens 41, 42, 43 Tip-up Pistols barrel catch #765-76 – Jack First Inc. for an old Stevens pistol, $48 + $11 delivery. I made my own in about 2hrs with a scrap of metal and a Dremel tool. BTW that part is about 1” long.

Food for thought: this part is often desired. They are not often found at the used vendors as most are buggered. If I had NO Hammer Stud Nut then I'd jump on anything available. If I were trying to upgrade then I'd wait for the one I want. I think the days of "..used ones have them delivered for less than $10." are gone. If not, I would like to know where they are.
