Default 1-1/2 2nd edition questions

Hi folks. I just got a 1-1/2 in shooter condition and have quickly made a conversion cartridge to make it capable to fire 22 colibri ammo. It works well and is fun. Accuracy... well it’s a lot of fun! I have a couple questions though, first being a date range for manufacture. Serial number just shy of 63900. The bigger question is that since it is missing the ejector rod and the associated screw to hold it in place I need to know what the appropriate screw would be to attach a new one, and what length should a new ejector rod be made? I will most likely make it from brass rod that I already have handy.

"I need to know what the appropriate screw would be to attach a new one.." S&W had proprietary thread sizes at the time your revolver was made. Check with Gunparts Corporation or Jack First as they may have the rod and screw.

As for dating the gun, that serial number range would place the ship date at about 1871.
