I know not a Smith but, non the less, in the family. I've looked around and can't seem to get a handle as to the purchase market of a H&R Model #1, "Saw Handle". Condition seems to appear above average, mechanics seem to be what you'd expect from a gun this age, functions sluggish but nothing appears to be broken. Grips in great condition, no scratches or abnormal wear.

Help with this would appreciated.

Rgds,
Ray

To the best of my knowledge all #1's were birdshead grips, 32 & 38 cal. Sawhandles were seen on 22 Specials. Value would be minimal unless as-new.

I believe the "Saw Handle" H&R's are Models 1 1/2,
2 1/2, 3 1/2 or 4 1/2 depending caliber and number of shots.
I would guess that in the so-so condition you describe the value would be $100ish. A little more if in .38 and more yet if in .41.
