Looking to find the mate to my New Departure.38 S&W.
Good Morning!
I have a (recently lettered) New Departure (Lemon Squeezer .38 S&W. #144615 was part of a 1901 2-revolver, consecutively #ed shipment to the Edward K. Tryon Company, Philadelphia, Penn.
The other is #144614.
I’d love to find the mate to mine!

This was a shipment to a sporting goods store and the serial numbers weren’t necessarily consecutive. Plus, there’s no way you could know for sure the other revolver you might locate was the other one in the shipment, although if both were shipped to the same destination on the same day, there’s a very good chance both revolvers were in the same shipment.

mrcvs, my S&W Historical report letter indicates ....14 and ....15 (mine) were shipped on the same day to the aforementioned dealer.

Sorry can't help.
I have a Third Model .38 Safety Hammerless that shipped to E. K. Tryon, Philadelphia, PA. on March 7, 1894.

Great lookin revolver and display case. The search can be fun.
Here is a picture of my single action 38's. The serial numbers are only 13 apart. Sent away for a single letter and requested both guns on that letter. Was hoping they shipped to the same place but no such luck.
The 38 double actions are about 500 apart.
Good luck in your search

Wish I had that skill set. I had them custom made for the revolvers. Like to display items with the guns that are from that time period.

That is so true, a couple yrs ago a guy in another online group posted his recently acquired S&W 2nd model 22lr single shot, nickel plated with an 8 inch barrel. It is an exact duplicate of mine and serial number was one digit before mine. I checked for his ship date to see if they were shipped together, nope, mine shipped one year before his, as well to a different company.
