top break
I have purchased a top break recently. need help identifying it. the ONLY numbers that I have found on it are on the bottom of the handle. they are 141189. this is my first time using this. Just signed up this morning. can anyone help me out

Welcome to the forum. Good clear pictures will be needed as many Brands, and models could use that serial number. If you have pictures on your phone you can post them by using the Go Advance tab once it pops up look for the paperclip icon (attachments) click on it click choose file from computer then once you have chosen your picture click upload. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum .
Several in focus & up close photo's of over all and all stampings on the revolver will get you all the information you want / need .
These guy's are good ... They were able to tell me all about my 38 S&W Double Action 4th model that belonged to my Grandfather ...
but make sure the photo's are clear and sharp . There should be roll marked info on the top strap .

Welcome to the forum. There is a lot of good information shared here.
With the just "a top-break" and a serial number we can narrow the field to about a half dozen models.
A caliber will reduce it to 2.
With or without a hammer will narrow it to one; once the other questions are answered.
And, of course; a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Very true. There were a few* other companies producing top-break pistols.

Don't forget:
Otis Smith, Thames, Empire,N.Y, Ryan, various clones in Europe, Belgium.
However, I honestly think the only two manufacturers that would have reached this high of a serial number would have been Iver Johnson and Harrington & Richardson. So, that sort of limits the possibilities based on the serial number provided by the OP.
