Welcome to the Forum. That appears to be a 2 Double Action, 4th Model. This model was made from 1883 to 1909, with an estimated serial number range from 43,406 to 282,999. Your revolver would have shipped from the factory around 1893-1894.
As already noted, the barrel has been cut and the hammer has been bobbed. It looks like there might also be some nickel plating on the butt-frame? It is mirror-like finish, but cannot tell for sure. I have a soft spot for cut barrel pocket S&Ws and have a few, both factory and cut. They are fun to take to the range, but not tack drivers by any stretch of the imagination. If you have ammo, give that one a try. The caliber is 32 S&W and Winchester and Remington makes them, but you will probably not find ammo anytime soon.
Photos of mine. Top gun is not a S&W and the third down is a factory 2" 32 Safety Bicycle.
