factory letters
How long is the current wait for Historical letters?
I was getting impatient for one so I checked my register.
Seems I forgot to send for it.

Obviously, the longer you wait; the longer it takes for the reply. Last I heard; five months. I have no horse in the race.

I haven't had occasion to send for a letter in quite some time, but last I heard the backlog had perhaps not been entirely cleared----but was deemed manageable and the moratorium on new requests had been lifted. If the turnaround has deteriorated to five months since, then I guess I'm surprised. I expect Bill Cross or Don Mundell can tell you what's what.

We are working as fast as possible. Some take longer as we are relying on two separate sources for some information.

Roughly speaking, it's the antique guns and the modern (ABC1234 serial number) guns that take longer. Most of the other stuff is being turned around in under a month, give or take a bit.
The guys are working really hard on this stuff. I can attest to this ... I see the number of requests coming in, and they're not shrinking.
